"WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION"
THE WAR IN IRAQ
America is committed to protecting it national security interests at home and abroad. Therefore strong, vigilant military forces, undergirded by the best strategic and tactical weapons and leadership, along with reliable intelligence are essential to maintaining a defensive posture with a no-fail offensive plan. However, the current Bush administration's actions, based upon faulty intelligence and forced ahead by poor leadership, have mired our military, our economic resources, and our international integrity in a rolling abyss of corporate greed, inhumane loss of life, blind ambition, and anti-American sentiment and revenge that if not abated, will continue for decades.
America must correct our mistakes. There were no weapons of mass destruction. Ben Laden was not operating in Iraq and neither was Al Quida until our President wrongly laid out Iraq as the primary battlefield in the war against terrorism. Thousands of human lives and billions of dollars have been lost.
The President, and every Senator or Congressperson and every military advisor who went along with his misadventure must be called back to reason and their decision-making powers must be given to the wise and the prudent.
As your Congressman for the 4th Congressional District of Louisiana, I will work tirelessly to bring back our troops. Our valiant military and civilian personnel must be brought out of Iraq as soon as possible and our efforts refocused on actual terrorist strongholds in Afghanistan and other known areas.
